Resourcing our Community Healers & Ritual Elders

In the United States, where I live, the healthcare system is beyond broken. Once upon a time communities supported their healers and ritual elders. This does not need to be a fairy tale. When we open the channels to support those who support our communities to heal, take care and thrive, we enter into a reparative, healing and caring relationship.

I’m not exactly sure when this project enlisted me, but it is asking for more of my attention, and perhaps yours? as the economic and political realities make it harder to experience and sustain care.

New ways of taking care of each other are essential.

I envision a gathering with those who are invested in healing and have gifts of various forms to share. A specific invitation to those with the financial resources to step forward and support those who are supporting healing in the community. An even clearer invitation to connect healers of color with benefactors whose ancestors are waiting for a chance to repair. This is not a fundraiser. This is a ritual of reciprocal healing, a systemic shift and one possibility for a different way of resourcing our collective wellbeing. This is about redistributing resources in ways we haven’t even imagined yet, and yet, this is a being guided by ways communities have historically held each other in mutual care.

Are our ancestors in cahoots?

If you too are interested in conversations and rituals that restore this medicinal and symbiotic reality, I’d love to hear from you. I’m open to collaborators, sponsors and co-conspirators for a gathering in 2027.
